I care because I can only file a joint bankruptcy petition in your case (that is, a Bankruptcy
Petition for both of you) if you are a married couple.
If you aren't, there are going to be two filing fees, and two retainers.
So I guess I really do care if you're married.
Because I'm trying to save you a couple of bucks.
